Business Link Pacific

Eligible businesses pay half. BLP pays the rest.

Business Link Pacific covers 50% of approved advisor work for eligible Kiribati businesses, and Quadem is a BLP Approved Advisor under the scheme. Four gates stand between most businesses and that subsidy, each one handled by a different body. Here is the whole pathway, in order, and where we come in.

BLP Partner

An eligible business pays half the cost of the approved advisor's work. BLP pays the rest.

The pathway

The four gates, in order.

Each one is a gate. If you have not passed a gate yet, that is the step to do next, and a different body handles each of them.

  1. Step 1.Register the business

Registration with the Ministry of Tourism, Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives is what makes the business a legal entity. Everything after this depends on that record existing.

Ministry of Tourism, Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives
  2. Step 2.Join KCCI

Membership of the Kiribati Chamber of Commerce and Industry is mandatory for the scheme, not optional. It is also where the BLP officer sits, so this step puts you in the same place as step 4.

  3. Step 3.Hold a current operational licence

An operational licence from the island council for the district where the business actually trades. A business trading in Betio needs the licence from that council, not from another one.

    Island council for your district
  4. Step 4.Business Diagnosis with the BLP officer

The BLP officer stationed at KCCI works through the business with you and identifies what it needs. When that diagnosis names a website or a system as a need, Quadem can be brought in as a BLP Approved Advisor, and the 50% applies from there.

This page is guidance, not a decision. BLP confirms eligibility, Quadem does not, and you are welcome to talk to us before any of the pathway is finished.
